2022 Garden Wrap Up: A Summer of Abundance

As the summer of 2022 comes to a close, it's time to reflect on the bountiful garden that we've tended to over the past few months. We planted a variety of fruits and vegetables, including cucumbers, tomatoes, black beans, glass gem corn, and summer squash.

The cucumbers were a particular standout this year, producing an abundance of crisp and refreshing fruits that were perfect for snacking on or adding to salads. Maddie couldn’t get enough of them and ate more than her fair share. The tomatoes were also a success, with juicy, ripe fruits that were perfect for making sauce or enjoying fresh off the vine.

The black beans were a great addition to our garden, providing a nutritious and protein-packed option for meals. We also enjoyed experimenting with different ways to prepare them, from traditional black bean soup to black bean and corn tacos.

The glass gem corn was a unique and beautiful addition to our garden. Not only did it add a pop of color, but it also produced delicious and sweet corn that was perfect for roasting or adding to salads.

Finally, the summer squash was a reliable and productive crop that provided a steady supply of tender and flavorful fruits throughout the summer. They were great grilled, sautéed, or added to soups and stews.

All in all, it was a fantastic gardening season, and we are already looking forward to planning next year's garden. We hope that this post has inspired you to start planning your own garden for the coming year, and we wish you all the best in your gardening endeavors.
