Cranberry Picking at Plenty Farms in Grayland, WA
There are two new family traditions we have started this year. Both have to do with agrotourims,”an activity or operation that brings visitors to a farm or ranch”, and it’s my favorite activity to do, especially when traveling. The first Is lavender picking in Eastern Washington at Blue Mountain Farm. Post about it HERE. The second is cranberry picking on the complete opposite side of the state along the coast of the Pacific Ocean. And it works out perfectly that lavender season in Eastern Washington is June and the cranberry season on the coast is in October.
We went over for the Cranberry festival. We stopped by the community hall and checked out the vendors outside and inside. We decided not go on the bog tour bus because that long with a toddler in a random bus, did not sound like it would end well. So instead we decided to our own self guided tour and I am SO glad we did.
After leaving the Community Hall we set out towards
The weather was stunning this October weekend, it seems like the first weekend in October is always nice. And the beach is a great place for a toddler, so we spent a lot of time here and had a picnic lunch. And it was very fitting for place to snap a photo of my very coastal chic grandma outfit.
Next time we go I' think we’ll stay the night nearby and try to do some clamming!
PROTIPS:
Bring cash for roadside cranberries.
Can be traffic in early evening near beaches if it’s clamming season.
