Prague, Where Beer is Cheaper than Water
Yes, surprisingly a beer is cheaper than a bottle of water. If you’re heading to Prague, here is some inspiration!
STROLL THROUGH OLD TOWN PRAGUE
Stop by the Vyšehrad fortress set in a park, it encompasses a cathedral and cemetery, where most of the famous people from the Czech Republic are lied to rest. Also, if you want to take a break, there is a great beer garden called Hospudka Na hradbách.
ASTRONOMICAL CLOCK
Found in the center of Old Town, make sure to go when the clock isn’t under construction or you’ll just get a photo of the regular clock like below.
SNAP A PHOTO WITH SOME GRAFFITI
The John Lennon Wall is a good place to make your mark on the city. So don’t forget to bring a sharpie or a can of spray paint.
WALK ACROSS THE FAMOUS CHARLES BRIDGE
The bridge construction started in 1357 and was finished in 1402. This was the only bridge connecting the two sides of the city of Prague for a very long time. So maybe we shouldn’t complain about construction timelines in modern times, although sometimes it does feel like it takes 45 years to pave a road.
EAT AT GINGER & FRED
Tour the Dancing House Rooftop at sunset, admission is a drink at the bar. Then head downstairs to Ginger & Fred for dinner.
BIKE TOUR
Book an “Unforgettable Prague Panoramas” electric bike tour with Biko Adventures. Over the course of 25km you’ll visit every peak around the city. Don’t worry going up hill on an ebike will make you feel like Lance Armstrong, expect maybe not on performance enhancing “supplements”.
And stop for a cold beer along the way at the biker bar.
Highlight stops of the tour include the Prague Castle, the National Monument Vitkov, and the Petrin Lookout Tower.
TAKE A TRAIN TO KUTNA HORA
About an hour and half train ride, head to Kutna Hora to visit the Sedlec Ossuary, which houses more than 60,000 human remains.
After you explore the ossuary, head over to St. Barbara’s Church. You can purchase admission for both of these attractions together for a discounted price.
Overall, Prague is rich with historical architecture because it was spared during World War II. The city is well suited for the history buff or any stag party attendee.
