Hôtel Beau-Site Talloires, France

Let me take you to a magical place set in a small charming town on the shores of Lac d'Annecy, nestled in the foothills of the French Alps, Hôtel Beau Site Talloires.

A much welcomed retreat after our long journey across a continent, over an ocean, over part of another continent, followed by a three hour drive. We were elated to finally step into this upscale, yet laid back stylish hotel.

Where we were warmly greeted by the sweetest golden pup, Figaro.

Once shown to our room, we immediately dropped off our three weeks of luggage and ran straight to Hôtel Beau Site's private lakeside beach.

After enjoying the amenities of the hotel's lakeside beach, we headed off to explore the idyllic petite town of Talloires.

While taking in views of castles set high in the mountain side we encountered old churches and explored cute shops scattered throughout town.

On our stroll we took a pit stop at bASECAMP, one part bike shop mixed with one part cafe. It's a great place to enjoy a cold beverage or get your bike serviced. Don't fret if you don't have a bike, you can rent one here or even sign up for a tour. Being from the biking capital of the USA, we felt right at home at bASECAMP.

After our pit stop, we headed back to our room to freshen for dinner at the hotel. Views from our room were something out of a storybook and I felt like a princess getting my photo taken on the balcony of my castle.

Off to dinner it was, which started with a lovely aperitif on the deck while taking in the majestic panoramic views of Lac d' Annecy.

We finished up our delicious aperitifs before heading into the dining room for the main event, the the chefs tasting menu.

There was not one bad or even ok plate, the cod was fresh and buttery, the vegetables were cooked to perfection with just the right amount of soft to crunch ratio. Not to mention, each and every plate was gorgeously presented.

Even if you don't stay at the hotel, I highly recommend making dinner reservations.  We finished the evening with a cup of fresh tea before heading back to the room to watch French24 and sleep.

The next morning we woke up and enjoyed the breakfast buffet before heading off to the city of Lac d' Annecy.

We spent the morning walking around town and were lucky enough to visit on market day. The streets were bustiling with people and were lined with meats, cheeses, fruits, olives, vegetables, soap, linen, oh the linen!

After exploring the town, we had to head to our next destination, but thankfully this wasn't the last we would see of Beau Site on our trip. We loved this place so much we cancelled our plans at the end of our trip and came back to spend time here.

For best prices, make reservations on Hôtel Beau-Site Talloires website.

The only regret we had was not being able to stay longer, and we are already scheming a plan on to get back and stay at Beau-site Talloires!
