Where the Pyrenees Meet the Med in Spain

Would you believe me if I told you we accidentally stumped upon not only a National Park, but a castle like structure in a National Park?

It all started looking for a pharmacy. We took a wrong turn and all of a sudden, we were at the entrance of Parc Natural del Cap de Creus, a place where the towering mountains meet the sea.

Incidentally, the best wrong turn we've ever taken, it was a surreal experience. Cows scattered the cliffside as the road steadily climbed higher and higher.

After miles of twising and turning up the mountainside the road came to an end with a castle visable in the distance. With our curoristy greatly peaked we immediately parked the car and rushed to the information sign indicating access to the Monastery of Sant Here de Rodes was 1/4 mile hike up the trail. At which point I decided I must wear something fancier and changed into a dress before we took off on our journey.

We basically had the whole place to ourselves.

With no one else around, we ran throughout this Spanish palace, exploring every nook and cranny.

After an hour of exploring and getting lost, the fog rolled in as quickly as we made the decision to run through the mist back to the car.

If you ever find yourself in the Catalonia region of Spain, I recommend checking out the Parc National del Cap de Creus.
